"Small shifts can have a huge impact on one's health and wellness. Consistency, knowledge and a positive mindset are more important than perfection when it comes to nutrition and fitness."

My Professional Profile

Hi I'm Cathy.  I'm a certified holistic weight loss coach, yogi, Pilates and barre instructor and former corporate accountant. I'm a wife, mom to one beautiful daughter and a dog-mom to many rescues!

I believe that small changes can make profound improvements to one's health and well being. Knowledge, a positive mindset and consistent good habits are more important than trying to perfectly follow a prescribed fitness program.

My goal is to support you on your health and wellness journey.  I'll guide you with simple shifts to change your mindset and create consistent good habits to help you achieve your life-long health and wellness goals.

My Story

When I was three, my mom enrolled me in ballet classes and soccer. These activities instilled in me a a passion for life-long fitness.

In university, I became a group fitness instructor and soon after gravitated to yoga for its physical benefits. I noticed improvement in my flexibility and strength. I saw other benefits as well -- stress relief and greater focus, which helped me in my hectic professional life. I wanted to share the benefits of yoga with others, and I began my yoga teacher training in 2004. Shortly after, I introduced popular vinyasa flow yoga classes to clients in downtown Calgary.

I grew up practicing Pilates as a complement to my ballet training. I trained in ballet for 17 years and the intensive training left my body in need of rehabilitation. In 2005, I intensified my Pilates practice to restore my body and began my Pilates teacher training in 2009.

In 2012, soon after having my daughter, I was drawn to teaching kids yoga and received my Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher Certification (RCYT) and have been sharing my love of yoga and dance in schools ever since.

In 2013, I completed Barre training as a way to bring my love of dance, Pilates and fitness together in a high energy format that I could share with my students.

I have a passion for fitness and a love of teaching. I encourage a sense of fun and joy in and out of class. My classes are well-rounded and centre on the balance between mind, body and spirit.

The benefits to my students are: calmness, focus, flexibility, strength, and weight loss.

I am a E-RYT – 200 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance. I have studied with Tim Miller and David Swenson and completed pre and post natal yoga training. I hold certifications for mat, standing and reformer Pilates.
