Bloom in Elementary School (Grades K to 6)

We explore yoga postures through the use of books, music and themes (environment, cultures and countries). BYIS helps kids to develop a positive healthy attitude towards their bodies and teaches them how to manage their emotions.

We employ various teaching techniques to reach kid’s with different learning styles.

Bloom Teens (Junior High and High School)

BYIS empowers adolescents to shape their own existence with skillful-living tools such as self-regulation, self-inquiry, and self-care.

BYIS targets Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies, including stress management, emotion and behavior regulation, self-appreciation and confidence, and strong relationship skills.

Each BYIS session creates a safe environment during the regular school day for teens to cultivate mindfulness, which develops into compassionate awareness of self and others. The BYIS program builds a sense of community and connectedness for students within their school.

BYIS incorporates breathing exercises, warm-ups, group and partnered activities, yoga postures, music, relaxation, and meditation techniques to strengthen students’ awareness of the connection between their minds and their physical bodies.

Janice L, Special Needs Teacher

Cathy's classes had a profound impact on my special needs students. Her classes are adaptable and inclusive, allowing every child to participate. I've noticed improvements in their motor skills, coordination, and body awareness, which translate into better self-confidence and social interactions. Cathy taught the kids tools to reduce anxiety and sensory overload, allowing them to better engage in learning.

Ciara G, Preschool Educator

I'm very impressed with Cathy, she is kind, patient and in general fantastic.   Her class plans keep the children active and interested! Everything is age appropriate and promotes gross motor development! Most importantly it’s fun!!

Sarah M, Grade 1 Teacher

The kids look forward to Cathy’s interactive and playful yoga sessions. Her classes promote physical activity and spark imagination and creativity. The kids love pretending to be animals or characters from their favourite stories. The best part is that they carry this enthusiasm and joy into other learning..
